Dr. Chen grew up with eye exams being a routine part of her life. Since childhood she knew she wanted to be in the medical field and optometry was a natural fit for her. She finds optometry to be a special profession, where the outcome of an exam directly effects a person’s quality of life. Dr. Chen is excited to bring her expertise in Primary Eye Care, Red Eyes, Dry Eyes, and co-management of LASIK and ocular disease to the community.
She graduated from Western University of Health Sciences. Her rotations during internship year include working in offices of Veterans Affairs, large hospitals in Chengdu, China and Cleveland, Ohio, and private practice. Working in the large hospital systems gave her the opportunity to observe necessary as well as elective procedures. Such surgeries and procedures (from front to back of the eye) include: Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL), SMILE, LASIK, PRK, Corneal transplants, Pterygium removal, dermoid removal, Cataract surgery, Epi-retinal membrane peel, Panretinal photocoagulation, and scleral buckle/Retinal detachment surgery.
Dr. Chen is Board Certified in the Treatment & Management of Ocular Disease. She has a special interest in providing services for her patients that include: Specialty Contact lenses (Multifocal, Hybrid, RGP, and Scleral lenses), the newest imaging and diagnostic equipment for ocular health exams, and Dry Eye/Ocular Surface treatments.
After finishing school, Dr. Chen spent a few years practicing in Cleveland, San Diego, and Temecula. She is very happy to have finally settled down with her husband, young daughter and dog close to Bear Creek Eye Care. Her personal interests include finding all the spicy restaurants in town, traveling, reading and Vinyasa Yoga.
Dr. Chen treats patients from Wildomar, Murrieta, Temecula, Lake Elsinore, Corona, Palm Springs, and San Diego. She is accepting new patients.
